Cycling from Copenhagen

From Copenhagen you can make small day trips cycling cities like Roskilde (30 kilometers), Hillerod (40 kilometers) or Helsingor (50 kilometers), plus shorter along the coast to Ishoj in southern tours or any of the northern populations or, as in the interior, in the area of near Farum Lyngby or lakes. The possibilities are endless and the routes are chosen by the cyclists as if time came worsens or fatigue, most of these places are well connected by rail, which allows carrying bicycle.





For weekends you can combine cycling trip by staying at a hostel. From Copenhagen you can tour the coast south to the cliffs of the island of Møn, cross the island from east to west Zealand before returning by train, or take a route that passes through Roskilde Fjord skirt and then Copenhagen north shore.

My favorite for a weekend is, however, running through Denmark from the German border in Padborg, Sonderborg taking the boat to the island of Funen, sleeping in Odense (about 100 miles the first day) and continuing the next day with a trip by train to wherever you want to go get off the ride. In Sweden, one can try to get lost in the interior of the region and visit the areas of nature, for richer or take tours of the coast.

For the more adventurous are toughest companies in several days. In Denmark there are several routes especially attractive, as it crosses the islands of Zealand and Funen and runs parallel to the coast of Jutland to the German border and on to Flensburg and Hamburg, or cruising around the country from east to west to Esbjerg or-the most ambitious of all-the one that follows the coast of Jutland north to reach the tip of Skagen.

Cycling trips in southern Sweden
In Sweden it is a bit more complicated, since only a fraction of the Øresundtog trains- coming from Denmark allowed to carry bicycles, limiting some possibilities. However, they are possible and recommended excursions from Malmö both along the coast north and the west. In Helsingborg, Lund and Landskrona there are interesting natural places worthwhile for a day trip.

Remain as large bicycle tours of the great alternative excursions to Stockholm or Gothenburg. Besides many other nature trails that lead to lesser known but no less interesting.



The problem is that the question what can be done with the bike, after the objectives arises. The Swedish railway services offered, in any case, the ability to bill it as baggage. Only in areas that are connected with the so called Øresundtog allow this possibility, although this reduces the chance of trip to Kalmar, on the southeast coast.
